Job Description

Following impressive growth, Derivco Isle of Man are looking to recruit IT Software Engineers specifically for our Sportsbook product. As an IT Software Engineer in our Sportsbook team, you will be working primarily on a Microsoft environment, with the opportunity to extend this onto a Linux platform, to investigate, troubleshoot and resolve incidents on live systems. In addition, you will also deploy software to update and add to our portfolio of products.

As an IT Software Engineer you will be responsible for:

  • Providing technical expertise across the product portfolio, covering both software deployment and support
  • Troubleshooting complex support queries from operators, investigating SQL databases to identify software bugs
  • Supporting and maintaining SQL and Microsoft environments
  • Managing the delivery of new software to our systems whilst ensuring continuous availability of our products and services
  • Actively engaging and building relationships with operators, development teams and third-party providers
  • Resolving support issues, providing ongoing IT solutions in a fast-paced production environment
  • In-depth investigation and resolution of live incidents
  • Providing ongoing automation and monitoring solutions

Our time is split between deploying software to staging and production environments, resolving incidents of varying degrees logged to us by both our internal and external customers and liaising with our development teams based across the world to plan for future updates to the product and ensure the quality of the software is at its utmost.

  • RedHat experience
  • Ansible
  • Powershell
  • Virtualisation
  • Automation and monitoring solutions

As an IT Software Engineer, you must have:

  • Demonstrable experience in Windows Server applications
  • Experience in troubleshooting SQL based issues
  • Previous experience in a support role, using a ticketing system and providing technical support at a 2nd or 3rd tier level.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • A team player who enjoys working in a collaborative and cutting edge environment

Ideally you may also have:

  • Microsoft qualifications including both MCSA and MCSE (SQL server track)
  • Knowledge of virtualisation technologies and IT infrastructure (servers, networking and storage)
  • Experience troubleshooting and deploying on live systems
