Job Description

As a Technical Specialist – Networking, you will need to have expertise within the IT networking space. Identifying technology gaps and spearheading new technology adoptions as per industry best practice.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Research and development
    • Engage with vendors regarding new technologies
    • Maintain technical awareness of market trends and solutions.
    • Document needs analysis based on company requirements and provide technical impact
    • Lead proof of concepts
    • Technology GAP analysis
    • Guide the implementation and deployment of new technologies
    • Identify training needs based on new technology implementations and train where applicable
  • Ownership of technology strategy and roadmap
    • Advise organization in technical direction
    • Maintain and improve service catalog
    • Technical documentation resulting from service catalog artifacts
  • Lead and participate in high impacting projects typically as a technical lead within the project team
  • Maintain strong relationship with the following teams
    • Architecture
    • Security
    • IT Services
    • Infrastructure
  • Responsible for technical escalation within the team
  • Coaching of junior engineers
    • Identify training gaps and report back to team lead

Required Skills

  • 10 to 15 years of experience in Networking and IT infrastructure preferable
  • 5 years of Derivco experience preferable
  • Vendor certification to CCNP or equivalent preferable
  • Able to demonstrate leadership qualities
  • Experience in Enterprise/Datacenter Technologies and Architecture
  • Proficient Network planning and design
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience preferred in the following areas
    • IP routing
    • Network Connectivity and Protocols
    • Advanced L2 and L3 understanding
    • VPN technologies
    • LAN/WAN services
    • IP services/applications such as DNS, DHCP
    • CDN workings and concepts
    • F5 technologies
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills
  • Dealing with technical escalations
  • Demonstrate ability to maintain excellent standards and service levels
  • Candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Candidate must have self and project management skills to maintain timely deliverables.
  • Able to communicate with end users across the business and tie together technical requirements.
